The topic of the lecture are theoretical studies of divalent carbon(0) compounds and heavier homologues which have the general formula EL2 (E = C – Sn) where L is a σ electron donor. The chemical binding between the ligand L and the tetrole atom E features a L→E donor-acceptor bond which means that the atom E in EL2 carries two electron lone pairs. We report about theoretical studies of molecules which have been synthesized in the past but were not recognized as divalent E(0) compounds. We also present results for molecules which are predicted to be stable but are not know yet experimentally
